Asian Absolute's Management Team
Henry Clough, Managing Director
Henry established Asian Absolute in 2000, having spent many years living in Hong Kong and Beijing. He now divides his time between Asian Absolute's London, Beijing and Melbourne offices.
As our current MD, Henry continues to work on key accounts, and enjoys putting together creative solutions for clients with unusual or especially challenging requirements.
Henry speaks fluent Mandarin (and rusty Cantonese, French and German). He is a closet techy who constantly torments our designers and engineers in his attempts to keep up to date with technology.
Matilde Chen, General Manager, China
After starting her localization career in her native Taiwan in the 1990s, Matilde earned her MA in Interpreting & Translating at the University of Bath before moving to mainland China in 2007.
Matilde has experience building translation and localization teams for clients with very high requirements for both quality and volume. Her mastery of the complex processes and technical requirements of the most sophisticated users of localization services provides great structure for our work across all sectors and for clients of all sizes.
Beijing's many golf courses provide Matilde with the opportunity to work on her handicap, at least outside of the cold winter months.
Roy G. Tell, Europe General Manager, London
Originally from New Orleans, USA, Roy's multicultural perspective has developed from working in a variety of countries including Guatemala, Austria and England. Roy holds an MBA with an International Business concentration, and a BA in Psychology with a Biology emphasis.
From a career spanning over 25 years Roy brings extensive experience to his role overseeing the servicing of our client base in Europe, North America and the Middle East. Obsessed with client satisfaction, Roy's excellent knowledge of our industry's best practices supports his focus on optimizing quality and turnaround times by streamlining processes throughout the project lifecycle.
Roy's broad personal interests range from linguistics to martial arts, neurobiology and esotericism.
Malik Abdullah, Finance Manager, London
Malik oversees the worldwide finances of the group. His 25+ years' international experience are a match for the complexity of a business with offices on four continents and clients and vendors in scores of countries.
With an eye for detail and process focus to match our most meticulous production people, under Malik's supervision the company's finances remain robust no matter how fast our growth.
Malik donates much of his spare time overseeing the finances of the charity AMA – Jalsa Salana, as well as following cricket enthusiastically. His support for the England team evaporates only when they're playing his native Pakistan.
